Healthy Vegan Lentil Hot Dogs
I love a good hot dog, but I didn’t like any of the vegan hot dogs I tried in the past, so I had to create one! I love this recipe because it’s:
Healthier than any vegan store bought hot dog I’ve seen.
Super quick and easy to make.
Main ingredients is just lentils.
It’s high in protein and great as a post workout meal!
Ingredients
Lentils
Vital wheat flour
Whole wheat flour
Soy sauce
Mustard
Olive oil
Garlic powder
Onion powder
Smoked paprika
Even though I used cooked red lentils for this recipe, any type of cooked lentils would work, just make sure you don’t over cook them and you drain them properly.
I haven’t tried this recipe with chickpeas instead of lentils yet, but I am guessing that should work too.
How to Make Lentil Hot Dogs?
You do need a food processor, a bowl and a saucepan.
Mix the lentils with the soy sauce and mustard in the food processor.
Pour this mix in a bowl, add the rest of the ingredients, mix/knead with your hands.
