Sesame paste
Almond flour
GF quick oats
Coconut sugar
Almond extract
Hazelnuts
Cherry preserves
Almond extract is important for the flavor of these cookies, make sure you use a good quality one with real almond oil.
I used cherry preserves for this recipe, but a strawberry or berry one would also work.
How to Make Vegan Almond Sesame Cookies?
You need a food processor and a bowl.
Preheat oven to 350 F (177 C).
Add dates, sesame paste, and water to the food processor and mix until you have a slightly chunky paste.
In a bowl mix this paste with the oats, almond flour, sugar and almond extract.
Form the cookies, preserves on top and one hazelnut.
Bake for a few minutes. You are done.

Ingredients (US Customary)
- 1/2 cup pitted dates (aprox 5 large medjool dates)
- 5 tbsp sesame paste
- 2 tbsp water
- 3/4 cup almond flour
- 3/4 cup GF quick oats
- 3 tbsp coconut sugar
- 1 tsp almond extract
- 18 hazelnuts
- 3 tbsp cherry (or strawberry) preserves
Ingredients (Metric)
- 90 grs pitted dates
- 5 tbsp sesame paste
- 2 tbsp water
- 72 grs almond flour
- 60 grs GF quick oats
- 3 tbsp coconut sugar
- 1 tsp almond extract
- 18 hazelnuts
- 3 tbsp cherry (or strawberry) preserves
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 F (177 C).
- Add dates, sesame paste, and water to the food processor and mix till you have a slightly chunky paste.
- In a bowl mix this paste with the oats, almond flour, sugar and almond extract. Mix with your hands till all ingredients are combined.
- Form 18 walnut size cookies and press your thumb on top/center of each one. Add 1/2 to 3/4 tsp preserves on top and one hazelnut.
- Pop them in the oven for 10-12 minutes or enjoy them no bake. I tried them both ways, I thought baked is better, your call!
Notes
Sesame paste: Sesame paste (or sesame sauce) has toasted sesame seeds versus tahini which has raw ones. Toasted sesame seeds give this cookie an amazing nutty flavor profile.
Almond extract: make sure you use a good quality one with real almond oil.
